Last term, we have been learning about the different dimensions of well-being using the Te Whare Tapa Whā model. This model describes well-being as a wharenui (meeting house) with four walls. Each wall represents a different area of health:
Taha Tinana (Physical Well-being)
Taha Hinengaro (Mental & Emotional Well-being)
Taha Whānau (Social Well-being)
Taha Wairua (Spiritual Well-being)
All four dimensions are important and need to be balanced to support our overall well-being.
As part of our learning, we have explored what each part of the model means and how it applies to our own lives. We have also watched a video to help us understand how the Te Whare Tapa Whā framework works in real life and how we can use it to look after ourselves and others.
